Where I’ve spent my career
Sectors where the work has to stand up to scrutiny
Most of my career has been in places where a system is judged by regulators, auditors and the public as well as by the people who use it. I bring the controls, the evidence and the calm those environments need, without slowing the work down.
Regulated industries
Finance and insurance
Systems that satisfy auditors as well as users. I design for traceability, data governance and regulatory change from the first workshop, so compliance is built in rather than bolted on.
- Audit trails
- Data governance
- Regulatory reporting
Healthcare
NHS and health tech
Systems that handle patient and clinical data, built around information governance and the people who use them under pressure.
- Information governance
- Patient data
- Interoperability
Local government
Councils and public services
Integration across ageing council estates, resident-facing services and the back office behind them. I understand public procurement, tight budgets and the duty to be open with residents.
- Legacy integration
- Public procurement
- Accessibility
Defence
Defence and its supply chain
Secure delivery for critical systems. Security by design, controlled environments and a clear line of accountability from requirement to release, with the discretion the sector expects.
- Security by design
- Supply chain assurance
- Accountable delivery
How I can help
What I do
Eight things I do well, from a day of advice to a full programme. Whichever you need, you get the same person from the first conversation to go-live.
Digital Transformation
From the first discovery workshop to the last go-live, I help you work out what actually needs to change, build the case for it, and stay accountable for delivering it with a return you can measure.

I design and build line-of-business systems, on enterprise low-code where it fits and bespoke where it doesn’t, starting with the data model so the system lasts long after the launch.

Disparate systems are a fact of life. Silos don’t have to be. APIs, file exchanges, databases and robotic automation, connected so that your data works for you and survives the odd failure.

Customer experience is mostly operational: the right information in front of the right person at the right moment. I look at the journey end to end and fix the causes of friction, not just the screens.
Explore this serviceProject Oversight
An independent pair of eyes on your side of the table. Vendor selection, due diligence, cost and return analysis, and honest reporting on whether a project is really where it should be.

I’ve been building with AI in production since before the hype, and I’m still sceptical of the hype. Useful AI is contextual: your data, your rules and your documents, with a person in the loop where it matters.
Explore this serviceAI Auditing
If you’ve built, bought or inherited an AI system, I’ll tell you whether it is ethical, secure, compliant, transparent and effective, in a report you can hand to an auditor.

Where a process lives or dies on documents, AI-powered capture, extraction and checking goes well beyond what OCR could ever do. I’ve used it to read log books, lease agreements and photographs at scale.

About me
About me
I work best alongside people: your team, your suppliers, your board. My job is to make the right choice obvious, and then help you get it done.
I’ve spent more than thirty years building and connecting business systems, and I still enjoy it as much as I did on day one. Most of that time has been in places where systems are judged by regulators and auditors as well as users, which is why I start with the data, keep evidence as I go, and say early when something won’t work.
Kind words
What people say about working with me
“Adam’s skill set and knowledge of systems and databases has enabled him to quickly make a name for himself within our organization. Adam’s approach to problem solving and finding the best fit solution to a problem makes him one of the best at what he does and has meant that we are always confident in his solutions and his abilities to support our staff through any issues that arise. I always appreciate his time and his skills to overcome our many integration issues.”
“I have worked with Adam on several development and integration projects and cannot speak highly enough of his skills. However, what stands out for me is his dedication to the client. When I called him at 6pm with a ‘show stopper’, he immediately offered to stay late or come in early the following morning to help resolve the problem – a real team player who comes through when needed.”
“Adam has proved to be an expert in his field and has worked well with us to achieve a fantastic result. He has been integral to the success of the project. His commitment to the project goals have been beyond what we commonly experience with other consultants.”
“A very professional and personable gentleman. Adam is very easy to get along with, which I find a very important quality in someone who is responsible for the programming of a critical system for my business.
I have known Adam for some time now. I would thoroughly recommend him as a reliable and intelligent person.”
Writing
Things I’ve been thinking about
The Model That Refuses to Talk
Why System One models such as Jev, which return typed decisions with calibrated probabilities instead of generating text, may be the most useful AI release of 2026, and where the hype needs trimming.
Part 1: The Breach of Trust
How the illusion of a borderless web shattered Europe's digital complacency, and why digital sovereignty is now a board-level concern for UK and EU organisations.
The Convergence of Automation: Powering the Intelligent Enterprise
RPA, low-code, AI and process intelligence are converging into hyperautomation. What that means for enterprise operations and how to plan for it.
